What drives Auto insurance rates?
Many of my customers know that their driving record and type of the vehicle affect their Auto insurance costs. Did you know that several other factors also are influencing your Auto coverage costs?
- Injury claims and medical costs. Accident rates are falling, but bodily injury claim rates are rising one in four accidents results in an injury claim. Accelerating medical costs to treat auto-related injuries also are pushing insurance costs higher.
- Liability awards.Jury awards are sky rocketing in auto liability cases. In fact, 60 percent of Auto premiums are for Liability coverage.
- Repair Costs. Safety features, such as airbags, make today’s cars safer, but they also cost more to repair.
